The Swimming Hole

Oil on Board

My dear friends own a home (built by the husband, an amazing craftsman) on the Bushkill Creek. It is home to the most incredible swimming hole.  In the late fall, the trout come up to spawn and lay in these deep, ice cold waters.  You can hardly get in this water until August. The rocks are a perfect place to sit and contemplate.  My mom used to swim here when she was a kid. It's a million dollar place to cool off, in my opinion!

To celebrate their 44th anniversary, I painted this little "vignette". Colors aren't quite true in this photo, but close.
