Red Barn

Red Barn
12 x 16
Oil on canvas

This is the second time I've painted this farm scene.  The first one focused on the fields, while
this one is more of a close up of the barn. There's something about this place that always brings a smile to my face!  I think I will paint it again.  Maybe this time from the top of the bend in the road looking down at the back of the barn.  It's a nice view.  Shows the Catskills in the distance.  Stay tuned....

Hudson Valley Landscapes

Another great art show coming up!  This one is in Olivebridge at the Ashokan Center.  It used to be called the Ashokan Field Campus when it was owned by SUNY.
(As a side note, my mother's grandmother was born there. I guess that makes her my great-grandmother, LOL!  Her name was Adelia Winchell. I did a painting of her a bunch of years ago. It's rather amateur, but my mom likes it!)

I was asked to help organize the refreshments with another woman from Kate's class.  She also lives in West Shokan and is an easy partner to have! We're totally unsure how many will attend this first ever show, but I'm getting vibes that it might have a good turnout.

Woodstock School of Art Student Exhibition

I'm pleased to be included in a new show opening at the Woodstock School of Art on Saturday, Nov. 9th.  There will be a reception from 3-5pm.

It's an exhibit of students' work completed this year.  I painted on location with Kate McGloughlin on 4 different dates and I chose the one from the Waruch farm on Cherrytown Rd. in Kerhonkson.

It was a fabulous summer day.  Claudia & Dave Waruch allowed us to paint in their fields.  My spot was on a hill looking across the huge hay fields at some old unused buildings.
