Another painting I did of a local stream, the South Hollow Brook, recently sold. My husband built this little footbridge after hurricane Irene for a neighbor. I tried to paint it in a stylized sort of way. He also hired my husband to restore the banks of the Bushkill creek in front of his house and I helped plant young willow trees that will help hold the bank in place as the roots grow.
I'm so glad the property owner liked it enough to buy it. It was Mike Ratner, recently deceased. A very fine man.
I took two paintings to the Cornell Cooperative Extension office in May for an art show to celebrate their centennial. The theme was people, places and things of Ulster County. I didn't have much time to paint anything especially for it, so I took "The Bluebird" and "Mohonk Cliff".
Wasn't I happy today when I went to retrieve them that "Mohonk Cliff" sold! The buyer wanted to be anonymous, so I can't thank them in person. If you ever read my blog, dear buyer, thank you!
