Pemaquid Point, Maine

Pemaquid Point, Maine
5" x 7"
oil on board
framed in black
currently on display at Studio 91, Kingston, NY

We took a trip to Maine the first week in September and stayed near Boothbay Harbor.  We drove out to Pemaquid Point one day and visited the lighthouse.  That provided inspiration for another painting for another day!  I set up my homemade pochade box and started doing this small painting of the point. It was a breezy day and I had to hold onto my materials with one hand and paint with the other. My mean little poodle was sleeping next to me in her bed and people kept coming over to see what I was painting. That is, until Ginger started growling at them!  One way to keep onlookers away!

ASK Open Studio Tour

I just found out that I'm going to have a few paintings hanging in a gallery tour of Kingston on October 2.  Here's a link to the site where I'll be.

I have a few landscapes to take and probably one from my shore birds series.  Bolstering my confidence is my painting coach, Judith Boggess! She'll be exhibiting at this site for a month.  Not sure how long my paintings will be there, but it's fun to be included!  Will post photos later, gotta get some framing done.
