Stormy Ashokan

A storm was brewing one day while I walked on the dam of the Ashokan Reservoir in Olivebridge NY.
Before I got wet, I snapped a photo near the Samsonville Cove where the driftwood collects.
The water level was down and the coastline was showing. The usually large bowl of mountains was barely visible through the mist.
Painted on a gessoed canvas board, this original oil painting measures 9" x 12" and I offer it unframed.

Late Winter

5" x 7"
oil on canvas board
The last week in February, we had one storm after another. West Shokan looked like Siberia! I thought the little stream running at the base of our mountain  was so cute with the various pond grasses sticking through the deep snow.
Just before I painted this scene, a fisher had run through here as witnessed by the tracks she made.
